Laser tattoo removal speeds up your immune system’s natural fading process by breaking up the ink particles trapped in the dermis skin layer. During a treatment, our laser emits light energy onto the unwanted tattoo where it is selectively absorbed by tattoo ink particles. The absorption of light energy causes the ink particles to heat up and shatter into tiny fragments. Following treatment, your immune system naturally flushes out the fragmented particles, causing your tattoo to fade. This process is repeated over a series of treatments until no ink is visible.

Most patients require a minimum of 5 to 10 treatments for complete tattoo removal. Patients interested in fading a cover-up tattoo or that already have an older, faded tattoo usually require as little as 2 to 4 treatments. The number of treatments needed is different for every client and depends on a variety of factors including your tattoo’s age, colors, location, ink density, patient health, pre-existing scarring, and more.

Many patients compare the laser sensation to a rubber band snapping the skin. Patients with a lower pain tolerance have said the laser feels similar to the tattoo application process. Overall, the procedure is very tolerable. Ink Eraser offers skin numbing solutions to make treatments more comfortable.

Laser tattoo removal is a very fast procedure that lasts anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo being treated.
